While the rest of the pack may just be catching up with modularity and cross-platform capabillity, PureLink has once again proven its leadership with a visionary new line called PM. Some will think its ingenious, others will think its pure magic, a tour d’force of breakthrough thinking that will make everyone stop in their tracks and take notice.

PM Routers combine the best elements of HDbaseT, long distance over a single CAT5e, POE+, and bi-directional RS-232/422 control compabilities along with Auto-Scaling and Seamless Switching side by side with the latest and most advanced 2 LC fiber option for ultra long distance runs with the same features, in a single chassis. When combined with the new PM Transmitters and Receivers, the result is higher performance with fewer parts and lower overall cost. PM’s unique Audio Insertion and Extraction capabilities offers integrators a new level of control over Audio Routing with the Video. PM can mix HDMI, DVI, 3G/HD-SDI over CAT5e (HDbaseT) or Fiber from a single chassis!
<p

The project at hand was for the new GameDay Sports Bar inside the Sycuan Casino, El Cajon, CA, part of a $27 million casino renovation. <a

The Crestron programming was straightforward and easy. This made the job easier on our time crunch.”

AVDB, a five-year-old integration company with additional offices in Las Vegas, NV, Nashville, TN, and Phoenix, AZ, had worked previously for the Sycuan Casino and initially had been awarded the audio contract for the renovation.

AVDB wanted to implement a curved video wall, but construction constraints prevented it so they pared down. GameDay’s AV system features five 110-inch Holodisplays screens with Sanyo PCM 5500 projectors, seven Panasonic 65-inch displays, four Panasonic 50-inch displays, 18 Panasonic 42-inch displays, and four 26-inch displays.

Under the leadership of operations manager Cathy Burgoyne and project manager Mark Magill, the 26-inch displays were mounted in booths for local viewing of any game that is currently available. Eight satellite receivers and six cable boxes feed into the PureLink MX -3600 digital matrix router, which sends the video signals out to the displays. Audio processing is handled by the MediaMatrix NION 3 and amplified by two Lab. gruppen C68:4 amplifiers. The 74 Tannoy CSM 601 subwoofers provide coverage throughout the booth and seating areas, while six EV Evid 6.2 speakers cover the bar area. Low frequency is supported by six Tannoy CSM 801 sub woofers. A Crestron TPM 8-X wireless touch panel provides control interface of the Crestron AV-2 at the bar area, with a backup TPM C-9LB-T touch panel mount in the equipment rack.

“We chose the Sanyo projectors for their durability and because of our relationship with Sanyo, who met our timeline for the projectors,” Hall explained. The Holodisplays images look almost like plasmas, he continued. “The client really liked this image; it’s not from a standard screen. We’re using acrylic screens with a lot of gain and that really sets off the image when you see it. The original idea was for rear projection, but again, because of construction issues, we switched to front projection display. During the design phase, AVDB organized physical demonstrations with the product for the client and architect, ensuring optimal placement of the screens.”

Karen Mitchell is a freelance writer based in Boulder, CO.

GovComm2011: PureLink Highlights Video

Company News

News

Uncategorized
<guid

PureLink’s road to HD bliss is paved with sophisticated modular transmitters and receivers, especially when moderate to long distance protected 1080p HD connectivity is involved. When multiple HD sources and displays are deployed with a matrix router, it can create clutter issues within a rack space that if not properly dressed down, can become a chaotic nightmare quickly and lead to signal degradation.
<p

The new RF6T/R Rack Mount Modular Extension Center (MSRP $449 each) houses up to 6 affordable Tx or Rx modules in a 1RU space, all powered by a single power supply. An extensive assortment of modules, both for the rack and for the stand-alone position at the source and display, can be ordered a la carte as HDMI, DVI, Fiber, or CAT5 Input and Output, providing integrators and installers with the most flexible and organized HD signal extension system available today.

Once assembled, PureLink’s special RFCC cable cover supports all the cables and keeps them tidy and well organized. Happiness is an organized rack.

<a
