INTRODUCTION
The Georgia Aquarium is one of the most unique and visited aquariums in the world. The quality and reliability of visual presentation is expected to be of the best pedigree by the management of the aquarium, and they needed a solution to extend AV signals over long distances due to the size and design of their system.
PureLink’s AV over IP product line allowed the Georgia Aquarium to achieve exactly what they needed and expected.
THE COMPANY
Pro Sound and Video, based in Orlando, FL, was selected by the Georgia Aquarium for the outstanding reputation and ability to solve any AV system challenge that is brought to them. Ken Bert, Pro Sound’s experienced Themed Entertainment Specialist, headed up the project.
THE CHALLENGE
Video and audio sources had to be reliable extended long distances to displays around the aquarium. The solution had to be effective and reliable, making sure that the thousands of visitors every month enjoyed the highest quality experience
THE SOLUTION
PureLink’s PureStream line of extenders were selected for their renowned reliability and quality. The solution: PureLink’s VIP-300H-U provided plug and play installation. Multiple sources were connected to their relative displays across a local network. The VIP-300H-U offers either fiber or category cable connectivity, in the case of the Georgia Aquarium category cable was the best fit. All VIP-300H-U transmitters were quickly set to separate output stream channels using their front panel interface, and the receivers were set to match their corresponding signal. With very little time invested, the AV over IP extension system was online, and has been in operation for many months with zero issues.
