Enhancing the Family Experience at Boston Pizza

Enhancing the Family Experience at Boston Pizza

INTRODUCTION

Boston Pizza Midland, part of Canada’s #1 casual dining brand with over 380 locations nationwide, wanted to elevate the guest experience in its family-friendly restaurant and sports bar. With multiple displays, including a 2×4 video wall, and screens throughout the location, the restaurant required a flexible, reliable AV system that could deliver dynamic content and enhance entertainment for guests.

THE CHALLENGE

Owner Andy Staffen needed a system capable of distributing multiple video sources seamlessly to a variety of displays. Key requirements included real-time control of the video wall, the ability to change layouts and sources wirelessly, and monitor system status across all displays. The solution had to be intuitive, flexible, and reliable, ensuring staff could manage content efficiently during events, live sports, and daily operations.

THE SOLUTION

Boston Pizza Midland partnered with Canadian integrator Northern AV to design and implement a comprehensive video over IP solution. The system leveraged PureLink’s PureStream™ video over IP products, centered on the VIP300H-U distribution system for high-quality, reliable video transmission.

VPX IP Management Software provided a browser-based interface, allowing staff to control the system from any tablet or mobile device. The WallMaster™ plugin enabled rapid video wall layout creation, preset management, and source assignment. A VIP-NET-4804-1G managed network switch supported the PureStream system, ensuring consistent performance and stability throughout the restaurant. The complete solution allowed staff to instantly switch sources, update layouts, and monitor all displays, delivering a professional, easy-to-use AV experience.

THE RESULT

With PureLink’s solution in place, Boston Pizza Midland now has a fully integrated, flexible video distribution system. Staff can update video wall content on demand, monitor display status remotely, and seamlessly route multiple video sources to any screen in the restaurant. The solution enhances the guest experience, supports live sports and events, and streamlines daily operations.

THE REVIEW

“We needed a video wall where we could change the layout at any time with the press of a button. Being able to use a touch panel to see the status of our displays and instantly change sources was exactly what we were looking for. We simply could not find this type of solution from anyone else but PureLink.”Andy Staffen, Owner of Boston Pizza Midland
