Fiber-Optic AV Extension for Multi-Site Worship

Fiber-Optic AV Extension for Multi-Site Worship

INTRODUCTION

As houses of worship expand and adopt modern audiovisual technology, delivering high-quality, synchronized content has become essential. For multi-site churches, simulcasting services across campuses requires a reliable, real-time AV network to ensure a seamless worship experience for all congregants.

THE CHALLENGE

A growing Presbyterian church in Northern New Jersey temporarily moved part of its congregation to a nearby building while construction on a second campus was underway. Initial simulcast efforts relied on internet streaming, which caused noticeable delays and intermittent signal loss. The church needed a high-performance solution capable of supporting long-distance distribution with zero lag, while operating in a complex environment that included street-level cabling and IT infrastructure at the secondary location.

THE SOLUTION

The church partnered with PureLink to implement a fiber-optic solution capable of supporting real-time video distribution over a 0.6-mile point-to-point distance. PureLink’s PureMedia™ 4K Fiber-Optic Extension System (PM-FR101-U and PM-FT102-U) was deployed, including careful planning for fiber patching and distribution through street poles and existing IT conduits. The system ensured uninterrupted, high-definition transmission from the main sanctuary’s broadcast control room to the temporary worship site.

THE RESULT

The upgraded fiber-optic network eliminated delays and dropped connections, providing a smooth, real-time simulcast experience for the congregation. The PureMedia system allowed the church to continue its services without interruption, while supporting high-definition audio and video across multiple sites.

THE REVIEW

“With PureLink’s fiber-optic extension, our simulcast services now run flawlessly,” said the church’s technical coordinator. “The system is reliable, fast, and easy to manage, giving our congregation the immersive worship experience we envisioned.”
